PROMISES

Sometimes ago, I found myself walking out of a really tight friendship zone. I loathe my actions looking at the memories with this dear friend, I discovered I had made a whole lot of mistakes, presently I still discard those memories because I made some promises that I personally knew I couldn't fulfill. After the incident, I decided to avoid or completely stop making promises (as the case may be).

Promises, as we all know is making a future or advance commitment, dedication or prediction. Most of us make a lot of promises but have we really thought about fulfilling the previous debt?

Making promises can be very dangerous if we don't fulfill them. We carry them on our necks everywhere we go and they secretly affect our lives. When we see the people who we had made the promises to, we tend to feel startled and pray they donā€™t remember our debts.

Avoiding promises can be practiced; at least it leaves us on a safer side. It helps us live a free life which is preferred to not meeting up to tasks and tendering apology for an unfulfilled promise.
Personally, I tend not to fully accept an unfulfilled promise.

Making promises puts the promisee's mind at rest and comfy because he believes that whatever the situation might be, the promise will definitely be addressed. Meanwhile the promiser on the other hand is either not taking it seriously or situations around aren't palatable to fulfill the promise which is a debt that has to be paid. So, I think it is better you hadn't made those promises.

You make promises when you are rest assured that come what may, you will be able to address it to the point of duty. Let's try to avoid making promises especially when we know we wonā€™t be able to fulfill them, start getting serious with them when we are compelled to make one and fulfill every of our past made promises. In situations where we can't fulfill the promises, the onus is on us to explain to the promisee in a very understanding manner. Letā€™s put an end to making fun promises like I did some years ago and live a debt free life.

Thank you for reading.

  1. promises are great wen made and wen fulfilled and otherwise like u stated but I think u came too strong at a point, some times wen we make promises we sure we can fulfil them but situations change and we not able to fulfil them although u address our next action that we should explain in an understandable manner but u forgot the reason why d promise was made in d first place, promises at times are made to make "promisee" comfortable, gain their trust or even ease dem of worry and if u drive us to not making promises and make sure we can really really really achieve d promise before making dem we might slack at d purpose of why we make some promises in d first place, in that aspect I feel u came to strong. although I do belong to ur school of thought of making promises and fulfilling dem, and making d ones u can't fulfil........ you doing a great job with this blog and ur write ups I have followed u very well from d start, and my next words are not to pull u down but to encourage and make ur write up better so we can keep enjoying TRUTH, I feel of all ur post till now u have done better at the introduction level than this particular post it came in a bit weak kinda, not a critic or a write up expert just stating my observation u done better u can do better. u doing a great job well done.

We have been witnessing cleaning exercises but this one got a different grading. Heroes Nation Social Change Ambassadors did a very wonderful sanitation exercises at Ipata Market, Ilorin, Kwara State. Where the SDGs (Goals 3, 6 & 13) were the Focus of the Sanitation and Sensitization today. The exercise commenced at 7am with the presence of the Nigerian Red Cross Ilorin Chapter, Corp members of sanitation and environment CDS, Kwara State ministry of environment and some volunteers who heard about the project from friends and social media publicity. While the sanitation exercise was going on, a group of heroes nation ambassadors took time in sensitizing the buyer and sellers present at the market on the benefit of staying dirt free using different Nigerian languages, this created a bond between the heroes nations representatives and the Ipata Marketers. This activity revealed some of the heart cries of some of the marketers who marveled at the energetic, cheerful and interactive ...

Life Expectations.

Life is all about challenges, obstacles and hurdles towards achieving the great height of success. Our reaction to these present the person we really are. Expectations in life is a very critical issue but so many of us sees it as a norm.  Like everyone should have what they are expectant of! Dont get it twisted, when I mean expectation, I am referring to giving and receiving. Sometimes ago, a friend of mine was critically ill but all glory to God he struggled to recovery stage, at the point of recovery, he picked up his mobile and started listing out names of friends to eliminate from his life. Why? Some even go as far as saying; "Its God that allowed me know the kinda person you are" cos they at some point don't meet up to your intents. I really don't blame him, he expected so much from his friends with the thought that he once rendered one assistance or the other to them at some point which in turn make them indebted to him. My de...
