I personally took interest in these kids but it could fetch little or no action till this passionate humanitarian organization kicked off a project tagged 'Street Edu Project'.
After interviewing the 2016/2017 president of JCI Unilorin, in person of Kugbiyi Korede Ayobami who said;
Education: That one weapon that you can empower a man with to go beyond begging for a fish, to giving him the chance to catch a fish by himself.
Junior Chamber international UNILORIN in Conjunction with Home kids Street Initiative is more interested in educating the minds of the less privileged than just giving them 'fish'
A project centered on educating a group of Hausa speaking children, who face alot of danger every day from begging for money to begging for biscuits to begging for comfort. It is a major concern as educating them is key to ensuring they have a bright future ahead of them.
Twice a week on Tuesdays and Fridays we give in our best to ensure these kids find value in education.
The goal of the project is to get these kids into a proper school system. Teaching them twice a week is the first phase of the project which ends by April , which will give way into the second phase."
I realized their passion for these kids was greater than what I had when I passed through the road of Tipper Garage, Tanke,Ilorin. Kwara State. I decided to join the organization in the outcry for sponsorship and partnership.
